Test Ride

Yesterday, the fearless scooter club leader, Russ, wanted to run a test of next weeks 7 Bridges Ride, the annual signature ride of the Seven Bridges Scooter Club.  We had over 40 riders last year and wanted this year to go as smoothly as possible.  The assigned ride leaders all rode to better understand the 85 mile route.

The Scooters

Tanya and Grace Ann

Russ, Tom and Karl

We started at the Shands Bridge near Green Cove Springs

Then the Buckman Bridge, I 295 in South Jacksonville

The Fuller Warren Bridge is I-95 running through downtown

Up the Acosta Bridge

Tom, Russ and Karl with ScooterBob, a small wooden scooter that has traveled the world over the past year in memory of Bob Leong, a moto blogger from western Canada.

Finally a bridge with something worth photographing from the roadway, the Main Street Bridge downtown.

Inside the steel framework, on the steel grating.

The Isiah D. Hart Bridge.

At the center span of the Hart Bridge

The Mathews Bridge, with Jim following.

Saving the most dramatic bridge for last, the Dames Point Bridge.

Then today, the Sunday ride was to B&J's Seafood in Darien, 100 miles north of Jacksonville.  We started with six riders, picking up five of the Georgia Boyz in Kingsland.  Cool but fun ride, especially meeting two new riders, Anna and Chris.
